4/5 Classroom

As many of you might know by now, we are dismantling the 4/5 combination class. Julie has done an incredible job keeping those children actively engaged and on the right track.  However, after much consideration, we feel that the children's needs would be met best by placing them in the other classrooms.  The fourth grade students already go out for Reading so they will remain with their reading teachers as a homeroom teacher.  We have made assignments for the fifth grade students as well.  We are putting the AG children together. Letters went home to parents on Friday and I will talk to the students in both grade levels today.  I have spoken with Mrs. Hackett and she likes the idea as well.  She is not sure when she will return as of yet.  She goes back to the doctor at the end of the week that we return after the holidays.  She will offer targeted assistance to grade 4 and 5 as a full time PRT.  Dismantling the class also gives us the opportunity to utilize personnel in other classrooms.  If you have questions, please see me and I will be happy to help.  We are still tweaking some parts of the new schedule in order to meet everyone's needs.
