Teachers And Students to Reunite

25 years after teaching her last class in Winston-Salem, Clarice Carter will return to our area to host a reception for all of her former students.  This is a celebration and a time for her to say "Thank-You".  She wants her students to know that she learned as much from them as they did from her.  Mrs. Carter has invited me to the reception to represent Diggs-Latham.  She will present me with a check for $500. to purchase a bench of our choice.  She wants this bench to be a positive bench on which mentors can sit with children and talk about all of their good qualities. All children need to know they are important and valued.  She was one of eight children and knows the importance of a caring teacher.  I have asked Amanda Gordon to network in the art world to see if we could get a special bench painted or designed that would represent who we are as a school.  We are so fortunate to be the recipient of this very generous donation.
